Is house music this easy ?

I started on an house track. After reading about and listening to house, this is what I came up with.

Its work in progress, I only made this in 20 min. ( and it needs mixing)

The part that does confuse me a bit, and that explains the topic tile.
I only have 3 tracks and the BBE.

If you see the notes in the piano roll, I am almost ashamed about uploading it.
I do know I like simple music too, so that might be the answer, but I am shocked about how this very minimalistic track sounds.
Me using that word is not coincidence, house music is minimalistic. (house wiki)

Maybe it needs an example ?

Hmmm.
Your short music clip, sounds interesting.
You definitely have something going there.
It seems that you're understanding, certain aspects of House music.

You have are right on target, when you said that House music is sort of simple, in a sort of way.
In some cases, it's a melody and beat etc. that is looped over and over.
And in other cases, it is more than that.
But you have to make the melody and beat sound enjoyable and Fun too.

Hey, check out Shovon Rahmans aka coffebean's, Youtube music channel, for more research.
He is an Lmms user too and he makes Progressive House music, that sounds good. :)

I like Shovons music. They sound really cool! :)

But old school house, is still, my kinda style. Ha! Ha! :)

Is house music this easy ?
it could, but when you go minimalistic, eg few instruments and soundclips, the variations need to be catchy and interesting! You always need at good melody, often as a pluck, and also perhaps the most recognizable element in house, a melodic pad with sidechaining.

The answer to any question that contain the word 'easy' is most often: Not if you like a great result :)
@Musicbear. Thank you for clearing some confusion on my side. So minimalistic house is a genre.

That's wiki confused me, it called all house minimalistic. I was quite surprised that with so little effort, in 20 min, I already got this close to some of the house music in the vid.

My favorite house track btw, The party Kraze. Hey dj, Hey Dj, give me a fat beat. :p
I am not gonna say it complicated, but I do not consider this minimalistic ? (and I already failed once when trying to cover this )
I do not think I hear side chaining in this one ? ( its from 1988)

Ethel, I think this party is is a bit too wild.
That guy there was talking about house music, omg look at the guy with green hair
Ethel lets get out of here :P

I also like to list this track as an example about the type of house I like.
Frankie Knuckles your love. ( did some one say arpeggio ? )

( computer games don't effect kids, I mean if pacman had affected us as kids, we would all be running around in a dark room munching pills and listen to repetitive music)
@ brandystarbrite

I do not think I am a big fan of progressive house. That lmms vid did however answer my question.
It is simple from a music composition point of view.
I love some disco and house music, but I have more respect for somebody like john lord from deep purple.

Rhythm of the nite, check, its in my playlist. ;) ( although I am tempted to call it disco lol)

I do like this one: Shovon Rahman - Morning Breeze (LMMS Progressive House) (boom clap boom clap boom clap)

And I will check out that lmms group

To bad the sound is not that good.

House comes some what from disco. A lot of the house music is not much more then a beat (and bassline) with samples and or a synth on top.

It started with disco (soul funk) and a drumcomputer in clubs. Dj's playing the best part of a song over and over, and this evolved into house.
To bad the sound is not that good.
Here is same program in HD and perfect sound

@slipstick -really good explanation!
Never knew that disco had these issues in the states.
It never got that bad over here, although it was not cool to like disco. ( when I was a teen)
An example of a dutch band.

Disco really made it, it empty and I hate it. lol
Disco was one of the many genres that caught my attention when i was younger but, wasn't really my cup of tea

"Disco really made it" 's instrumental has me intrigued

I wonder what happened to disco though, barely hear ANYTHING that makes me remind me of it these days did it really die?
Or has it evolved to what we call house today?
