pause between loops

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Frustrating problem- I'm working on a beat in Beat and Bassline editor, it has a couple of short snares at the end. these are really short hits so I go into Piano roll to add these in 1/32 notation. When I add them, I notice, these snare hits (starting in the last 1/8 note of the measure) go past the end of the measure line. Obviously, I'd want it just to loop back at the end of that measure, but instead adds a blank measure so you can hear those snares trail off for half a second, then wait until the end of that measure before looping back to the beginning. Now isn't that freaking crazy? That is definitely the problem, I can just take those snare hits out and it loops fine. Ideally, I'd like to be able to add those snare hits without it adding a blank measure.
Make the notes shorter so that they won't go over the line.
yeah... I'll see if that works... was kind of hoping for a solution that would allow me to just specify when a loop would begin and end... haven't been able to figure out those loop-point green arrows...
I was looking around for shorter samples, sometimes a sample sounds short, but trails off longer... we're talking fractions of a second anyway... I have to load the sample and play it just to find out it's a millisecond too long. Now I've got to modify a sample, shorten it, save it, load it into LMMS, add it to the beat, and then see if it works. Seems like there's gotta be a simpler solution.
No it doesn't matter how long the sample is... as long as the note ontime doesn't go over the line, the sample can still play after noteoff.

Like you can use the volume envelope and set release as long as it goes, full sustain (the sustain knob is inverted for some reason so you have to set it to zero, quirks of LMMS). Then the note will play even after noteoff and you can use shorter notes.
Thanks, just starting to learn this thing.
Actually, the way to go, a good thing to know anyway, is in piano roll, you pick a note, quarter, eighth, etc... then your note will be that note... so, when I'm at the end of the measure, I just make sure I'm adding notes that will end by the end of the measure. I wasn't even doing that before. maybe that's what you were trying to say. Anyway, that worked.
You can also adjust the length of the note manually by dragging the right edge of the note left or right.
I have been having the same issue! It's been frustrating to say the least. When i click on the right edge of the element to adjust it i also press CTRL to "finely" adjust the length of the element. The little tooltip pops up to show length and blablabla. When i drag the LBM it shows that LMMS recognizes the adjustment. But that little blue bar will only flicker and when i let go of the mouse button NOTHING HAPPENS... >=[

Although i will say that it works fine if i were to adjust say.. the Beat/Bassline element in song editor but not when i try to adjust the piano roll track (it's more true blue as opposed to the seafoam green of the BB elements)
Are you talking about changing the length of elements in Song Editor ? The original thread was referring to changing the length of notes inside Piano roll which is not really the same thing.

Most song editor elements can only be added or removed and don't loop. If you have a piano roll element that's 5 bars/measures long you can't change that to some other length and you can't extend it by dragging. You can add or delete groups of 5 bars or you can go into Piano Roll and change the length. BB elements are different because they do loop and you can extend them by dragging.

OTOH I may have misunderstood in which case if you can be a little clearer about exactly what you're trying to do that might help.

The different types of sound-containing Segments are explained.
Which of these (the name) does you have the issue with?
As Steve said, you will not be able to change the length of Instrument Tracks segments.

They will auto-ajust as you insert notes in them.
