transform lmms musical notes into conventional staff form, u know, treble and bass?
not sure how u would do this
just throwing it out there...
Incidentally this was just discussed on the mailing list, and it's probably not going to happen - musical scores are extremely complex and implementing a score editor would not be a small feat.

What you can do is use an external score editor that saves as a MIDI file, then import the MIDI file into LMMS.

I understand. If I wanted to use a score editor I would use another software.

What I really wanted was to print out music to play it, not "edit music" on it. Don't know if that is the same thing, however...
I mean, if you somehow programmed it to read each note and that note would correspond to a space on the staff. It wouldn't have to play right, just if it looked good. It would be like translating languages.
If I understood you correcty, you want to print a sheet of the music you've written on lmms.

That would be possible if LMMS could export in MIDI: this is a discussed feature with will be put sooner or later.
In the maintime, the only thing I can come up with is to use another program that can record MIDI and link LMMS with that one.
I didn't try it tho.

After you have your MIDI file, you can use another program which can import it and write the sheet (Rosegarden should do it)

Anyway, with Rosegarden you can write and edit the same score with both Pianoroll and normal sheet modes.

That is true. I actually have tried to look for another program. Unfortunately, I haven't found one yet that isn't riddled with viruses. So my problem is still exporting to midi. If and when I do, I know of a program the converts midi to staff. So if you know of any good midi recording program, I would definitely like the link. Thanks!

Wow, what? Where are you downloading your software from...

anvil is the most versatile midi freeware program. you get lmms-style sequenser and real staff. If you buy an exstenion, you can even print staffs.

(btw -lmms can load anvill saved midi)

Are you on Windows or on Linux?
Ok, i am now researching all that everyone has said.
Thank you for the info. I am on both linux and windows and would like programs for both.
