Good open source MIDI editor

Anything that doesn't fit into other topics goes here!
For those who want to make MIDI files and use them outside LMMS, here's a good tool:

http://ariamaestosa.sourceforge.net/

This neatly circumvents the minor problem that LMMS doesn't export MIDI. :D

But with good MIDI file and (for example) good SF2 (or synth preset) -> instant music! :D

None of those are open source in the least.
How does Aria help with the Midi problem? I mean does it tie in with LMMS at all or we're looking at doing an entirely different thing?

Like it's not getting around LMMS not outputting MIDI - anything in LMMS still can't be output in MIDI.

It requires us to create new work in Aria and then it exports to MIDI?

I'm looking at it now, for the first time, that's what it looks to me to be like...

p.s.

well I've done that with it. worked well. Spent four hours this morning trying to record midi from my keyrig 64, looking for software, downloading, installing, configuring, trying, learning, repeat....

this Aria was down, installed and working within five minutes and five minutes later I had a piece in Musescore, which was the object of the exercise.

Job done. :)

It's always easy once you know, isn't it? Four hours.... more....

Important note. FL studio owns the rights to whatever you commercially release with their demo software... So maybe not
