vst4free site download comes with crap!!

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
I just tried to download the baby grand piano vst from vst4free, a site recommended in the lmms help. The download doesn't seem to work, and it came with several apparently mandatory things like a registry cleaner. It hijacked my homepage (easy to reset), but now trying to go out on lmms help lands me on a google screen that bugs for updates, also leaves an annoying dancing update warning screen about one of several things. Just mousing over takes you to that same Google screen--you can't close it!

Has this happened to anyone else? How do I get rid of that stupid dancing must-update window?
OK, just got done uninstalling about 10 things with the Control Panel Uninstall. A whole bunch of annoying stuff, finally got rid of annoying popups. Some of these programs make you go to a dialog page while uninstall is in progress! If this is happening with vst4free's knowledge, I won't visit again, that's for sure!! They did not make this garbage optional!!! :evil: :evil: :evil:
:shock: it's ok...breath...count to ten..
find vst4free on facebook, and repport the issue. Im sure they do not allows that.
Remember to tell them what vst you had this troubles with, so they can take action.
Thank you for informing the community!
I assure you, certainly not all the downloads from that site have that sort of thing. I've downloaded a TON of VST's from there.
Also, make sure you read EVERYTHING as you install, and don't just click through. I have got a couple that wanted to install extra crap, but it DID give me the option (in tiny print) to NOT install the crap.
If an installer doesn't give you the option? Yeah, that is SUPER sketchy.
Anyhow, I agree .. tell them about it. (altho i can't find a facebookie page for them, there's this :: http://www.vst4free.com/index.php?n=contact )
It's OK, I'm all better now. :)

I will report this. I was not given the option to skip the two or three things the install setup dialog offered, and I got a good half dozen other things that were not mentioned, such as making something called Speedial my default search engine.

If you exit LMMS and go back in, the Piano One setup dialog reverts to its useful state. It really does sound good. And I don't appear to have any actual malware, just some annoyware that took a half hour to blow away. Anybody trying to hack into my system wouldn't make it so obvious they were doing so unless they were planning to hit me with ransomware. So for now, don't stay away from Sound Magic, just watch the download setup dialog carefully. :)

Didn't mean to crank anyone here, but this sort of thing steams me.
