Needs MIDI Controller Refresh on load

Hello !

I have been using LMMS for about 6 months. what I usually do is create the patterns and instrument configs and connect them to my midi controller ( new OXYGEN25 ). I just save the project and load it next time to use/edit again

but lately (i'm not sure what I did) when open the file, most of the time I always need to reconnect the midi controller to the controls.

the proper channel and controller numbers are correct. even the midi controller is checked in the midi controller selection

but when i uncheck and check it again it now works

i tried turning on the controller before turning on LMMS aside from just leaving it on and letting the system auto detect it. and it worked but should there be a difference

for instruments, the checked controller is not checked and I have to manually check it again.

the weird thing is that this does not happen anymore as long as I do not restart my computer.

what could be wrong ?

i am using ubuntu studio 14.04 , is there a log file that I can read that says what's happening ?

hello !

I'm still experiencing the "need to refresh" problem. it only happens on first load. if i refreshed the mapping of controllers to my midi controller and saved it, and re load it again some other time (without restarting) it will not need refreshing of controllers.

why does LMMS forget that the midi controller is there and it does not remind itself to connect to that it should connect to the midi controller ?

it is displayed and i have to uncheck the controller and check it again to refresh it. it remembers the channel and controller number but it seems to not function unless i re-config the controller

I use this for live performance (i know it's not intended for this purpose) but it used to work normally last time with the same setup.

help is greatly appreciated !

That sounds like a bug. Could you please submit an issue over on github: https://github.com/LMMS/lmms/issues/new

Try to be as clear and precise as possible, by providing some steps to reproduce the bug. That'll help in solving the problem faster. Also the title should be something along the lines of 'MIDI controller connections do not get properly saved'.

I hope your problem will be fixed soon.
