Undeletable VST Plugins (SOLVED)

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hi, It seems I have yet another issue. After my saxophone plugin crashed on me, I can't seem to delete the file because it says that this file is running in another location (that being remotevstplugin.exe). I have no idea how to fix this. I just want a working saxophone plugin that won't crash LMMS every time I open it.

EDIT: All you have to do is restart your computer and delete the file, it seems that when a VST plugin crashes, it still runs because of remotevstplugin.exe and that won't allow the file to be deleted until the computer is reset... for some reason.
I can not help solving your problem.

However, if you are on Windows7, you can stop the RemoteVstPlugin.exe process via the Process tab in the Task Administrator (wel, I use Win7 in english, so maybe the names are different).

On Windows10, the names may be different, but you can also manually stop any kind of process (without having to turn off the PC).

Yes, that works, because you clean out the processes that has gone 'orphan'
an Orphan is a process that has lost its connection to a main program, and it is not not possible to get hold on -The handle is lost.
Maybe i should add a word or two about this in the wiki, because orphans can be avoided.
Just as D.ipsum says, you can stop a running proces in TaskManager (TM), but what you really should do, is to stop The hanging LMMS and kill the connected processes too.
This is done by right-clicking on the LMMS-instance in TM, and selecting:
End process-tree
WARNING
Dont do that with processes you do not know well. You could kill household-processes, and your pc would be very unreliable, but it is fine to do it with LMMS

Thanks for posting that info.
I myself use that strategy, to deal with other software too etc.

I'm curious to find out, which saxophone vst were you using?

Also, welcome to the forums man. :)

I tried using DSK Saxophone and DVS Saxophone but they both don't work for me.
Have you look for saxophones in .sf2 format?

No, I will try that, do they go in the same slot as VSTs?

Oh and btw, DSK saxophone kinda works but when I reload the project, it hangs.

The VSTi are load with VeSTige
The soundfonts are load with sf2 Player (a soundfont file is a set of wave files, it's not a synth)

Ok, so do you mind if I ask you how to set that up?
SampleTrack allows you to load as many audio samples as you can, it offers fewer signal processing possibilities than AudioFileProcessor.

AudioFileProcessor allows you to load only one audio sample, but has interesting possibilities.

These two are audio sample players.

Sf2Player is a soundfont player. The general idea, if you take for example a piano soundfont, is that an audio sample will be assigned to a key (or several) of the keyboard. So, at best, you will have a full piano.

To use the sf2Player:
1) You must first find an sf2 on the net (LMMS does not provide), for example here http://www.synthfont.com/links_to_soundfonts.html
2) Place the file in a dedicated folder;
3) In LMMS, open the sf2Player and click on the pink icon representing a folder to load it. That's all.
