Where to start

This is my first post, I need help learning and to set up. I am a total Noob at this.

I have had some success. So far I managed to download and install the correct driver for Yamaha PSR E353 Keyboard and it is connected physically to my Toshiba laptop via USB Host.

Ok, so when I play with the instruments within LMMS on the keyboard everything is perfect and that is good.

However, when I try to fiddle around and try to play the sounds from my keyboard itself there is a latency/delay from when I strike the key to when I hear it from the headphones that are connected to my laptop. Any body know how I can record sounds from my Keyboard and play without latency? Or do I need to download some sort of software paino instrument into LMMS? Sory for my basic understanding, appreciate any help on this.

You will need to set the buffer size to reduce latency.

'Set up' you mean midi-setup -right?

See if that helps, and do try different latence-settings, as D.ipsum said!
