Tempo automation - visual feedback - bar numbers

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
I'm trying to get to grips with automation. The visual feedback seems poor, or have I missed enabling something.

I can vary the tempo - that's not a problem. The issue is that if I have a piece which is (say) 121 bars long, I want to be able to see the trajectory in the automation track. As far as I can tell, I can only see a few bars, and although I can vary the tempo (including in some quite odd ways - horizontal and vertical flips ...) I really want to be able to link the change points to bars or even points within bars.

Basically, although I can get changes, the visual feedback while playing is seemingly non-existant, and I don't have a sensible global view, so it seems hopeless.

Maybe it's specific to my machine, though I suspect not. This is running version 1.2.2 on macos Catalina.

I am impressed by the fact that something happens - but saddened by the fact that I have no idea how to manage this.

You can drag an automation-track to any length you like
There are several philosophies to consider
You can make one loooong automation-block, and should do that if for instance you want to increase loudness from 0 to 100% over 30 bars
If you want to make automation over 30 bars, but actually only want changes on 10.th and 20 and 30.th bar, then again you could use one 30 bar long block, but you could also use 3 separate blocks, bound to same dial!
Finally you can record a dial-move
I show that here
