Looks like mostly it's just me online - of the registered users, apart from Google Bot and Bing Bot.

What's the allowed time between postings?

Maybe it's a time zone thing, partly, but that can't be the only reason.

Maybe, but the system won't let me do two postings on different topics one after the other. I think an interval for a coffee break usually fixes that.

Oh - here we go again - it's stopping this one too. I'm guessing 2-5 minutes need to be wasted between posts.

This time it's just the Bing Bot and me - Google has gone away!

My guess now is that the stats only ever show a couple of Bots (Google and Bing) plus the logged in user.

Is that correct?

I mean the stats which show at the bottom of the forum page showing the number of online users.

I'm afraid that's not the case, Bear. It won't let me post more than twice in 5 minutes; I've been told to wait a couple times already today.
Another weird thing: I'm past my intro period, but have been told that a post I just made will need be cleared with the mods.

It could be that only a few are ever on at a time, it's a pretty specialized audience and a lot of the regulars such as Bear are coming from Europe, so there's not much overlap as to when you can expect folks to be on.

`There is, it seems, an option to hide one's "id" in each session - which I've only just noticed. I'm not too bothered, as my "handle" by itself is innocuous enough. I agree that relatively few people will be on at a time, but even so - it seems that they're all hidden - and I don't think it can just be the time of day thing. I am also in Europe, though it seems according to some, no longer in the EU, but the time differences aren't so big as to prohibit significant overlap. Other sites I use do usually have more visible registered users online each time.

I've never seen evidence of anyone else, not even Bear, when using this site.
