Unable to change midi setting and use midi controller

Hello everyone. I am starting with LMMS and I have had a couple of problems. I have the latest version of LMMS installed on ubuntu 14.04. The first problem I had was that I cuold not use my midi controller. So, I noticed that I had to change settings, but when I try to change midi settings, changes does not remain and when I go back to midi setting they appear to be restarted. I saw on another chat that I should pick the folder options and erase weird characters but I have no weird characters. So, I have a couple of questions and maybe somebody can help me:

1-How to make permanent the changes I make on the setting options?
2-Solving 1, will I be able to use the midi controller and its sound card? Because It is a primus a25 that has no drivers for Linux.

That is so far the best we have in respect to instruction around midi usage.
In regard to your Jammate Primus a25, 25-key USB AUDIO/MIDI controller

I hope it will work with lmms, but afaik, no one has tested or written a review, for this kb.
Most misi-based kb DO work with lmms, so you should properly be in the green :)

I can only say every time I start a project were I want to use a midi controller, I have to select it. It wont remember it.

I did not install any driver for it on openSUSE(Linux) though. It just works, after I connected it, I go to the midi tab, and then I can select it.

If you use a vst, you will have to save the preset, unless you use the default preset.
