Good find. That should work well.

From what I remember the key to a good bass line is leaving space i.e. plenty of rests. Reggae bass players are all seriously laid back guys and don't feel the need to play on every beat.

@Slipstick, yep that's one thing he explains, he calls it the bass drops.

And he turns off the snap function in FL, to make it sound more real (less computer generated) and he also changes the individual note volumes.

No idea yet on how to turn that snap off in lmms, but I already been playing a bit with this. Move notes 1/64 in a cloned track to get more depth.

snap turn-off in lmms, is done with pressing and holding ALT as you move a note in piano-roll (and also in song-editor, but there it is quite seldom something you would use, and only for samples - eg correct a erroneous 0-pos of a sample -useful for effects sometimes, thoug

Is there a way to turn off snap completely? I like MIDI recording but the best accuracy I can get is 1/192, and I still don't completely like that.
