Mapping record to a button on my midi controller

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hi,

I'm new here so I hope I'm asking this question in the correct place. I recently installed Lmms in Manjaro (essentially Arch Linux) and connected my M-Audio Oxygen 8 v2 keyboard. Everything worked out of the box!

I was able to play the synths using my keyboard and map various knobs on my MIDI keyboard to knobs in the synths. For example, I could wiggle the low pass cutoff directly from my keyboard and it sounds dope! The autodetect works like a charm!

There are play, record, stop and rewind buttons on my MIDI keyboard, is there a way to map them to the corresponding buttons in LMMS? I was expecting to right click the record button and see a dropdown with a Connect to controller option. Is this possible, is it in the works, are there experimental versions that have this?

I also have another similar question, but I want to make sure I'm asking in the right place.

If you have useable buttons on your M-Audio Oxygen 8 v2 keyboard, it ought to possible to map them, just as you did with the low pass cutoff.
How did you do that?
If it fails, then you will like to know that notes can be shifted very easily in piano-roll, so setting LMMS' to notecapture and then playing on your MIDI-keyboard is not creating a problem, you just shift all captured notes to the start of the clip, with a shortcut
Here are all shortcuts: https://docs.lmms.io/user-manual/7-reso ... y-mappings
Here is video about note-capture:
@musicbear, thank you so much for your response.

Here is how I did it. This worked great!!

I would like to be able to do the same thing with this button on the Piano roll, i.e. connect these buttons:

download instagram fotos to these buttons

The thing is right clicking on these buttons on the piano roll doesn't bring up any options.
