How to actually learn how to use LMMS to make music.

So, i want try out and make some music on LMMS. I have only the most basic knowledge of music, how can i go to learn more than placing notes but actually making them sound good? I get that i'll get the "feeling" with time and experimenting, but for example:

Whenever i place a note from a soundfont it always cut in the most sharp manner possible, how can i make a piano note sound like a piano?

You should not have that issue -Its partly on us.
LMMS' instrument default envelope is useless.
But the keyword is envelope!
You need to understand how the envelope changes the expression of a note.
