Annoying setting I cant figure out how to change.

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Is there a way I can make it so that tabs for things like drum lines, synth, and everything in the app will stay open after I press anywhere on the screen? this is a very frustrating setting that is making the software unbearable to use. i want to be able to have things open while clicking elsewhere.

Yes, you can set a component to stay on top of all other components, You need to right-click on the icon in top left of the component you want to lock, and the choose Stay-on-top, but it is not working perfectly. You can get issues with piano-roll.

It is better to use the larger components song-editor and pianoroll in windowed mode, and drag the components you want to have access to down under the larger windows, eg use a kind of split-screen, where song-editor is over the smaller windows like instruments, or effects UI.
You should also know and use the window toggle-keys:

F6 : Show / Hide Beat+Bassline Editor
F7 : Show / Hide Piano Roll Editor
F8 : Show / Hide Song Editor
F9 : Show / Hide Automation Editor
F10 : Show / Hide Project Notes
F11 : Show / Hide Controller Rack

Toggling song-editor up/down with its hotkey is an other way to avoid it covering other components.
Those two ways are the best imo

Besides that, since you are new in Forum
