OpenSUSE Leap XFCE & LMMS Help

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
I am a beginner in using Linux and I decided to go for OpenSUSE Leap as my first ever Linux distro since I answered a Distrochooser quiz and it suits me. I wanted to switch into Linux due to privacy reasons and also issues of my old laptop on Windows which is why I switched to Linux. Now, I want to start my music production journey as a beginner via LMMS with OpenSUSE Leap since it is free and open source. I decided to use GNOME as my first desktop environment but decided to switch into XFCE because it is more lightweight and helps me save storage. I already tested KDE, GNOME, and IceW Session desktop environments. I installed lmms in xfce terminal and when I open it in XFCE, it immediately closes, I try to run it in the terminal but it says a lot of errors like this:

(I copy pasted this in XFCE terminal)

Whenever I use KDE or GNOME as desktop environments, I do not encounter things like these but when it's XFCE or IceW Session, these shows up especially when I open it in the terminal. Can anyone explain why this happens and any solutions? I am a beginner so please be patient with me as it's my first time navigating Linux for a few months.

Hi, Welcome to the Forum SoloBoyLoner !
As new to LMMS and DAWs perhaps my video Rookie-guide can be useful for you. Link in my signature!

I hope this will be fixed by simply using our AppImage of LMMS. Obs that the instructions for using AppImages is on the DL page!

Let us know the outcome!
Dear musikbear,

Thank you for your reply. I guess I did not know that I can actually just use app images instead :D. I decided to download it and everything work fine! Also, your links will help me quite a lot especially the playlist and rookie one. Although the rookie video one seems to be old, I think and hope that it's still applicable for the new LMMS. :) Thank you!

Great that AppImage also works with your distro! Rookie-Guide is still ok, some icons has changed, but that is almost all, except for loop-points placement, but that is buged in current release.

Your issues with LMMS in XFCE are likely due to missing dependencies or incorrect audio configurations. To resolve this, use Zypper to reinstall LMMS and the related libraries (lmms-vst, libstk-devel). Make sure that PulseAudio or JACK is running, as XFCE may require some configuration adjustments. Additionally, ensure that you are part of the audio group and update your system to fix any compatibility issues. I was studying law and often struggled with writing case studies. I discussed my difficulties with my uncle, who recommended a website called Academized. After seeing many positive reviews on their site, I decided to give academized.com a try. It has turned out to be an excellent platform for me. Academized has a team of expert writers who deliver high-quality content for their users. Now, I utilize their service for all my academic assignments.
