Hello i'm reasonibly new to LMMS but i did spend a huge amount of time figuring out the functions. My main interest is not recording/song writing but live performance. LMMS seems perfect apart from one problem:
I've added about 12 instruments (some SF2, some ogg-files, some oscillators) into the Song-Editor.
On the midi-tab of those individual instruments, i've added one specific midi input channel per instrument (only 16 channels available, so i'm a bit limited).
This way, all instruments can be selected from my Oxygen 61 MIDI keyboard.
However, channel selection on most midi keyboards sucks. At least, on my Oxygen, i have to manually cycle with +/- buttons though all the channels. That is quite bad for live performance, because i need to be able to select 1 instrument fast, with 1 button.
Alternatively, i tried to bind the little "solo" red light-buttons on lmms to midi buttons. But this is quite buggy:
- multiple solo lights can get lit up this way
- this midi binding does not get saved into the project .mmpz file.
- cpu is drained because all instruments receive midi input simultaneously
I'm using version 0.4.12
Is there a fast and practical way to select instruments with a midi keyboard? Preferably with more than 16 slots available?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
