Piano roll won't open after working on project for a while

I'm new to LMMS (Using windows 64 bit), and in the past two days while working on projects after a certain amount of time, (not sure exactly anywhere from 10-40 min into working) the piano roll refuses to open in every track after double clicking it like it should. Instead a small box with the time of where I am in the track will briefly flash along with a hint to pres ctrl to resize. I've tried right clicking on the track and the option to open the piano roll does appear but nothing happens when clicked. The beat editor opens fine though. I've tried reopening the projects to no avail, I'm able to open a new project and the piano roll will open,but only for a certain amount of time. Not sure if I should uninstall and reinstall or what, any ideas?

I dont like the part with 'after a while', that sounds very strange, but i think we should try my first thought anyways.. I think you have minimized the window, and then there will only be a small icon left.
Try this:
Open your project
Close all floating windows
in the speedbar

point to the icon for piano-roll

Now click it a couple of time ,and watch the slider in the bottom of the main screen
If it moves a little bit, it tells you that the missing window is outside you view, to the right.
Use the scrolbar to locate the window, and maximize it.
Let me know if it worked
