A few questions

Hello
I want to ask a few questions:
I am now come to a musician named SeamlessR. I have the FL Studio DEMO version on my PC and this is a project of SeamlessR. It's called Bass Antics.
Here is a link:
https://soundcloud.com/seamlessr/seamless-bass-antics

Now my questions:
1. How can I make such a drop with growls etc ..?
2. What should I consider when Dubstep / Electro House?
3. How do I make a reasonable bassline?
I also have the FL Studio demo and I know exactly what you're referring to (it's a heck of a drop!). SeamlessR is very experienced with FL Studio and its plugins. He has a huge number of tutorials on youtube (many of which are worth watching even if you don't use FL Studio).

For the following questions, I assume you're talking about using LMMS

1. It is possible to make dubstep growls with the built in LMMS plugins; however, they won't sound the same as in FL Studio. I've experimented a bit with the 3x oscillator, and while you can get some interesting sounds, they're not exactly comparable to commercial dubstep releases. Just make sure to emphasize the sub-bass frequencies; they're quite important in dubstep.

2. Dubstep at its core is all about the rhythm (to me). It should be around 140 BPM with the drop in a half-time, two step kind of beat. Electro is similar to dubstep, but not half-time. It's a more typical 4/4 dance beat with dubstep sounds in it. Chords are more important in electro than in dubstep IMO.

3. Establish a tonic (base) note and/or chord progression, and stay within that. The bassline should ideally stay more or less on the tonic pitch or basic intervals (4th or 5th). You can deviate from this advice for the sake of creativity of course, but if you follow it, your bassline should sound pretty reasonable.

Thanks for the answer :)
I would now like to make more of a song with some Dubstep engraving. So just about as SeamlessR.
But what is a sub bass?

It is very interesting that here no automation was used. I will remember it :)
I just stumbled across this song: https://soundcloud.com/arckloud/altitude made by the same person. It's a pretty good dubstep drop in LMMS.

Or if you want to make some basslines then go watch his tutorials(SeamlessR). He's got a lot.
For example <<<<How to Bass by SeamlessR>>>> : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsSCePKB16A
but i don't recommend sitting watching tv(tuts on youtube) all day.
Try make it work by yourself

I'm sorry that I ask questions here.
But I do now music since 3 months and am still very inexperienced. I myself have already tried a growl to make but it was not working.
Since I released "Colors", I start every day LMMS, looking for new tunes etc ..
The LMMS Forum is intended to help others and to share his projects.

Best Regards

I'm surprised how much you can make in LMMS.
A very good song, I think.
May I ask, what is a sub bass?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sub-bass

Sub bass is basically the lowest notes. It's often felt more than heard because of how low it is, but it's still important to have a sub bass supporting the normal bass to give it some punch. A good and easy way to make a sub bass in LMMS is to use a plugin that can make sine waves, and use that in very low notes.

For example:

Sub bass is more or less anything on the keyboard below about C2. And you need good speakers/phones to hear it ;).
