LMMS controls while editing, help please

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hi all,

I'm trying to create my first track (just a child's nursery rhyme) and I'm finding the LMMS controls a bit frustrating. I have a few questions. I'm using LMMS on Windows 10

1. When I'm editing a piano roll I want to stop and start and listen to a section, then move notes around, and play just that section again. But, every time I tap my spacebar to stop the section, the timer (play point) automatically jumps back to the beginning of the track. Is it possible to define the start point so that it will continue to play from where I am working?

2. When I want to select some notes to move, I have to keep clicking the select tool, and then after they are selected I have to click the drawing tool before I can move the notes. Is it possible to just select notes and move them without having to click the tool icons?

3. When I am selecting notes, and if some of them are off the screen, I want the selection tool to automatically scroll in the direction of my mouse until I have all notes selected. At the moment it isn't, meaning I can only select the notes I can actually see. How can I select notes that are off screen and only visible when scrolling?

4. Is it possible to insert a note in the piano roll so that I can keep track of where a section starts? For example, I'm working on Old McDonald, and lines end with EIEIO, and I'd like to insert a marker or comment to remind myself what the next notes represent.

5. When switching between song editor and piano roll, I frequently find that the piano roll notes won't play at all, and neither will the song editor (because it isn't selected) and I have to specifically click the timing above the note section of the piano roll before the notes will play. Shouldn't this be automatic if I've already clicked into the piano roll and moved a note?

Thanks in advance :)

Yes

a little old, but still valid

Yes, select draw-tool
Press and hold ctrl
Draw select-box
If you also hold SH (sh+ctrl) you can multi-select / deselect

Actually you can select notes you cant see! Just drag the box wider than the screen, and the notes will be selected :p Thats ofcause very unprecise, so i recommend that you use the 25% magnification, and then drag a box around what you can see, and after that use the fore-mentioned sh+ctrl method.

No there is no comment in situ. It is in the 'pipeline' But thats a very big pipe..

That should not happen at all. I could suspect that it is caused by a muted channel-track, there is a <1.1.3 bug that can cause this behavior, if it is not a muted track, then please repost.
I may actually choose to split your topic later. Please make only one question pr post :) That make searching for answers easier for others
Thank you for your answers, Musikbear.

The select box doesn't automatically scroll the window to select notes that can't be seen for me, I don't know why, so I suppose I'll have to get used to zooming out to 25%, and use Shift-Ctrl if the song is still too big for the window.

Sorry i diddent explain well enough. The select-box does not scroll, but it will select notes outside the window, if YOU expand it (blindly) outside the view!
And that why i called it un-precise :) You as user, cant see what the select-box actually does select, before you scroll the view manually.
