LMMS shows data in file directory, that doesn't exist

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hi!
I already use LMMS very long and now I wanted to tidy up my samples a bit. I putted them all in: C:/Program Files/LMMS/data/samples/own
(I created the folder own by myself.)
Now if I change the samples place, they are still shown in LMMS as if they were there, where they were before. So it's like every samples gets doubled. Reinstalling LMMS and restarting the computer didn't help.
Then I put the folder "own" away from the data file directory and it's still there in LMMS and LMMS plays the samples when I click on them.
I don't want it to be like that forever.
Can somebody help? Thanks!

Do you mean like editing this:

Because that what you need to do. Then close lmms and reopen. Your setting shold be correct.
Thanks, but no, that's not it. I know that. I don't want to change a directory, I want the actual data directory (which I'm not even able to change) to be updated, because the samples I firstly have put into C:/Program Files/LMMS/data/samples are not tidied up so I secondly wanted to delete them from this file directory, which doesn't work. They appear in the program but they aren't in the file directory at that place anymore because I've put them away.
Do you understand my problem now?
Are sure it's not finding samples from your working directory as above (usually C:/users/*username*/lmms/samples) ? That's where user supplied samples normally go. The Program Files/lmms directory is supposed to be for LMMS supplied samples. If you use the LMMS "My Samples" list it looks in both those places to find samples.

Just figured out: in the LMMS working directory is a folder named samples and LMMS puts the folders from there to the others from the LMMS/data/ directory in the program.
That was soooo confusing.
