VST plugin - no "show gui" button, can't reload plugin GUI

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hi!

I've got a problem while using VST plugins: I create an instrument eg. TripleOscillator then I'm adding a "dblue Glitch v1.3" and doing sth with it. Next I choose an other instrument, select this TrOs again and click "Controls" next to the Glitch plugin. When I press it small window (approximately 60x30pix) shows and I can do nothing to reload the plugin main window.

I tried to fix it but I failed, anyway I collected some useful information:

1. This bug occurs with other plugins also eg. "Classic Chorus" or "CamelCrusher";

2. The bug doesn't exist when I'm adding effect to FX-Mixer;

3. I've tried to see what happens when I add this effect to LMMS on Ubuntu. I noticed, that in Linux the bug appear also, but when I'm pressing the "Controls" button a next small windows shows on which is "show GUI" button. In Windows there were no buttons on this window.

I've searched the web but I didn't find answer for my question (Did I search too briefly?).

BTW, I work on Windows 7 64bit and use LMMS 0.4.13.

I'll try to make a short video describing it.

Sorry for my poor english :oops:

A Vid describing the case

I can confirm this on Fedora 16 64 bit and LMMS 0.4.13.
I did run into exactly the same behavior some time ago. That's why I only add VST effects to the FX-Mixer...
As I assign each instrument to its own mixer channel anyway, this doesn't bother me too much...
I believe this has something to do with LMMS losing track of the window in which the VST effect is displayed.

Cheers.
known bug- unfourtunately the hotfix in rc1 have not fixed it - reported

Hello,

I created new patch for this VST effect window visibility problems, see
https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=d ... _id=105168

You can try to apply on current GIT stable branch and build LMMS from source and than test it again.

PS: there are few different problems I am aware of(see the link) with VST effects attached directly on instruments ,
I'll try to look on those later, PS as small workaround could be attaching instrument track on effect channel
and than adding VST effect on that channel too, not on instrument directly.
But this still do not resolve missing buttons & controls on this VST effect control window on Windows build.
