Recording smaples from audio device

Hello there!

I've got a small problem with recording samples option. As I read on the lmms webpage tutorials there are two buttons between "play" and "stop" - they're "Record samples from Audio-device" and "Record samples from Audio-device while playing song or BB track" . But unfortunately they are not highlighted and I just can't click on them. E.g. I'd like to record a bass guitar sample in lmms. What may be the reason of this? Or i just can't record such a thing and those buttons are used for other things? I yes for what for example?

Currently I don't believe you can record audio directly into lmms. The Sample tracks currently can only load an existing audio clip. While there is a set/clear record option, and record buttons on the Song-Editor I believe these are merely place holders for where these will exist in the future, after they get implemented.
