Description:

Hey everyone! It's been a little while since I've posted anything up here, but I've still been steadily making music. Several people have approached me about making music for their games, so most of my work has been directed towards those projects. However, I decided to enter my newest chip song in Best of LMMS, and I wanted to post the file here too.

The percussion soundfonts in here are from a Battletoads and Double Dragon soundfont. You can find that here:
https://www.williamkage.com/snes_soundfonts/#btdd_soundfont

I used patch 17 for the kick, patch 18 for the snare, and patch 19 for the tom.

That website is awesome, you can find all kinds of great-sounding collections that are sampled from SNES games. Amazing retro sounds and very easy to use!

My goal with this was to create a full-sounding chiptune while using as little automation/effects as possible. Also, besides the soundfonts, I wanted to only use the native chip-style synths in LMMS. What you see is what you get. One effect I did use a lot of was the Dynamics processor to get a little extra punch/definition out of some of the synths. Anyway, let me know what you think! Thanks as always, and good luck to everyone submitting to BoL this year! There's already a lot of awesome tracks in the submissions and we're only a few days in!

Is BOL7 already announced? There's no seventh on competition page. Posted by: Error  on 2020-03-18 05:14:49
