Nice of you to share your progress! Check out the Key/Scale feature in piano roll: In this project open the BitInvader track. At the top of Piano Roll window, select "E" in the 5th dropdown and "Major" in the 6th dropdown. Now you see some notes are not at a highlighted line. Move them up or down and try how it sounds. It's not mandatory to have all notes on a highlighted line ("in scale"). For example I think the first chord sounds nice as-is. Going outside the scale is called chromaticism.
