Cool like usual. I see you did the compressor thing :) but I couldn't really figure out what the sidechain compressor was doing to the bass. Sometimes it got louder etc. Got me wondering what the S/C mode and S/C route does... After some experimentation I discovered that S/C route=1 means the left channel is compressed by the audio in the right channel (thus making the output mono). S/C route=2 is the reverse situation and S/C route=0 is your normal stereo compressor. As for the S/C mode, this was the best I could find: https://lmms.io/forum/viewtopic.php?t=34802 It's a bit hard to wrap your head around the different filter options without a GUI, but basically S/C mode=0 means it uses the original unfiltered audio to compress the output and the FREQ knobs have no effect (the S/C level does though, that's how it can be used to create that pumping effect). So why bother using sidechain compressor for this simple task you might wonder? In LMMS 1.3 wouldn't. I'd just throw peak controller on the FX volume slider directly. But when trying that in 1.2 I noticed it got a little clicky and that didn't seem to be the case for sidechain compressor, so it's all just a big complicated workaround. At least in the way I used it. Posted by: NiftySardine  on 2023-12-17 15:13:35
Sorry for the block of text, LSP doesn't like newlines I guess. Posted by: NiftySardine  on 2023-12-17 15:14:15
