This version is for the lazy ones not caring at all for sound quality, but caring a lot for the right key, tempo, instruments, effects, notes and rhythms :-)

As far as I remember, you made very serious criticisms of me and this project in particular, and you promised to make better.
The vote is for that.
You have my full support for what you are doing and I do not underestimate your work!

@gdd71: Yes, I criticised your project because I have very high expectations of you. No, I didn't promise to make it better. I only promised to create my own remake on your request.Posted by: Peter F on 2017-04-28 19:33:40
Interesting: often a particular strength of one guy becomes the weakness for the other, and vice versa ... like complementary puzzle pieces

I like to judge comparisons by listening to the more subtle and less busy parts - if you are good, they should be good. When you progress to the multi-layered/multitrack chorus parts there is more room for error!

1:12 - 1:29 for gdd, 1:13 - 1:30 for Peter are covering same part, correct? Would go for gdd here. Better percussions (but check the volume proportions). Peter, missing some punch, some "bite" here. May I suggest Hyper Pad ZynAddSubFX preset? Has a nice attack and phaser, even at default settings.

Now, the inverted result for starting from 2:24 gdd; 2:26 Peter. The more chill vibe works in Peter's favor. To be VERY picky, too much subdivision in the mid / trebles for gdd: (2:37 - 2:42 original song | 2:42 - 2:49 in cover) listen closely to the original and you will hear that it is not so [also you have added an extra motif!]

To defer to PeterF's well-said point: stylistic interpretations over "correctness" (usually). I would much rather be able to say, "This sounds like gdd71" and "This sounds like PeterF" than hear two imitations that lack the panache! Stay tuned!Posted by: Artro Fifteen on 2017-04-29 07:59:23
@Artro Fifteen: Thanks a lot for your feedback! I agree with you, bass and kick are usually the weak points of my remakes. I should take care more for that.Posted by: Peter F on 2017-04-29 10:11:00
