As experiment I have changed quickly the bass line (mostly removed some notes).

I will remove the project after some days.
Interesting thing that the bass only can completely change the nature of composition.
I do not mean it is better, perhaps now it remain to much on disco or dance music but anyway an option.

My variant is more "psycho trance??", yours variant as you have described.
This gives me the idea of a third variant.. Something average between these two :)
