Name: Inner City - Good Life ( MPXVM Bootleg Remix ).mmpz | Download |
Description:
My poor attempt to cover the classic Good Life. Is not a lot, but it is what I can do right now. You can totally use the project to come up with new songs.

MPXVM, you have made my day. This is great! I love it. Posted by: ewanpettigrew on 2024-11-09 21:48:33
After I did the cover Remix I realized that "Good Life" and "The Music's Got Me" from Bass Bumpers are very similar, is just the pitch and note arrangement that does the difference. :D Posted by: mpxvm on 2024-11-09 22:53:41
Move to the Rhythm from Bass Bumpers is even more close as sound to Good Life Posted by: mpxvm on 2024-11-09 22:56:30
Thanks MPXVM, I had forgot about Move to the Rhythm as I hadn't listened in years. I just listed to Move to the Rhythm, and it sounds great. One of the earliest attempts to 'emulate' the Inner City sound, I think was B-Art - Streetwise, from Belgium in 1989. Their label and producer had connections and influence to Detroit (he even had Derrick May remix it). The legend is that the original sound sample for Big Fun that came before Good Life was a processed sample from Nitro Deluxe - This Brutal House (1986). Lots of good music to this day has used the sound. Another good one in my opinion / personal taste is Reckless (With Your Love) by Azari & III. However, there was a whole lot of music that came out of Belgium around 1989 built on the same sample - some really good and some following a trend. I see that you made a couple of small tweaks to the patch, and you got it sounding right. You could upload the preset as Inner City or Good Life, as I uploaded the basic / generic saw wave Detroit Chord used in a lot of Detroit Techno and you got it right for Good Life. You are pretty good at listening to notes and chords and replicating (I do not have that sort of ear - I can through trial and error make sounds but I have trouble recognising chords). Maybe you could have a look at a cover / remix of B-Art Streetwise if you like it :) Posted by: ewanpettigrew on 2024-11-09 23:18:47
I was to young in the 80s, the 80s for me was mostly Phil Collins ,Kylie Minogue, PSB and Madonna. From 1990 started the journey for me with Technotronic, Snap, Prodigy, C+C music factory and other amazing dance bands :D Posted by: mpxvm on 2024-11-10 00:43:02 |
