You're kind of having problem with variation. This barely evolves. There are some easy tricks to make it evolve, like shifting the pitch (Demonstration: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpOo_1qh1CM The melody doesn't really change, it's just shifted), and making chords (Also can be heard in the video; make 2+ instruments with the same melody, then shift melodies so that you got 2+ similar melodies on different notes).
