[Version 1]

Here's a couple examples of how I do a "sidechain" effect in LMMS. I know there are other ways, but these are the two ways I like to do it.

No, the song doesn't transition well, but it's supposed to be a tutorial kind of thing anyway.

Hope it helps some people.

[Version 2 here:]

This is a great song, and these are excellent methods of sidechaining! However, the one that I find the easiest is this one. (
You don't have to keep changing the Automation editor, or add an attack to the Envelope. It's self-working. Hope I helped! Again, I really enjoy the song! Best one here in awhile.

Genious thing doing it with the automation editor, with the peak controller it sounds funny.Posted by: Sti2nd on 2013-05-13 20:06:50
Very helpful, thanks!Posted by: Winwon on 2013-05-23 19:28:07
Thanks all.

Spade, I took a look at your tutorial. That was helpful. Yeah, I've heard of performing a sidechain effect like that.

You can create it once and then repeat in infinitely by building everything (Automation track) in the Beat/Baseline editor too. For this tutorial, I decided to actually put it in the Song Editor so it was clearly visible, even though that requires linking every segment to the FX track you're modulating.
