If the project stops producing sound, you need to reopen LMMS, open the beat bassline editor and just click on the volume control of one of the snares. I don't know why but it works!
Also, you will need the GeneralUser SoftSynth soundfont for this to work. Download the soundfont (SoftSynth) from here: http://www.schristiancollins.com/generaluser.php
