Description:

To listen to this song at its best, please download the 4Front Piano VSTi here:

I know I've recommended this VST before, I use it a lot in my music - and it's free!

Trying some new techniques with this song - using attack on my bassline rather than ducking it. I made most of these synths from TripleOscillator scratch. I highly recommend trying to create synths yourself - the presents tend to get overused and thus the song can sound generic. Anyway that's my 2 cents. Please rate/comment if you get a chance and enjoy!

Nice sound! I'll act on your advice and try to create new synths. It's true that some of the presets are overused, especially the Erazzor. Keep it up! Posted by: alf42red  on 2010-11-27 20:35:09
It's good. I have a suggestion: you could use only the factory files, so people won't have to download other components. I'm not telling to do it all the time, but sometimes you could use only the default stuff to variate. I like the idea of creating new presets, you could make a tutorial about it for newbies, since it's a very awkward function and mostly newbies I talk to doesn't know how to create presets. In general, awesome music, keep it up. Posted by: Yure16  on 2010-11-27 21:24:19
Thanks alfred! Yeah you tend to hear the Errazor a lot. Yure, I just can't help myself! I love that big housey piano sound. But yes I will take your suggestion into mind and my next track will not involve downloadable instruments! As far as making a tutorial, I wouldn't really mind that all that much. What would be the best format for that do you think? Posted by: Zakarra  on 2010-11-29 04:58:27
You're one of the few artists here in LSP, whose tracks reach a new level every time and who seems to be serious about making music with LMMS. I really like your music's character. Keep up your experimental explorations xD I'm not quite sure if I'm going to use LMMS that much in the future, but I think I'll upload some of my tracks here this year. :) Great and refreshing track. Appreciate it :) It has been and still is a learning process. In all honesty I'm saving up for FLStudio haha but for now LMMS does the trick. It's an amazing program considering it's free and you can really do a lot with it if you take the time to explore and try things out. Usually creating the musical idea isn't the hard part, it's bringing it about through the technology. Keep creating! Posted by: Zakarra  on 2010-11-30 21:08:17

Yeah man check out the comment I left here: http://lmms.sourceforge.net/lsp/index.php?action=show&file=788 Hopefully that helps with mixing. I'd be interested in making a tutorial if people would want that. Just wondering what the best format should be. Posted by: Zakarra  on 2010-12-09 01:28:23
Download this soundfont Fluid R3 from here http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool/main/f/fluid-soundfont/fluid-soundfont_3.1.orig.tar.gz and use 7zip from http://7-zip.org/ and extact it , it will be an archive in another archive. It is GPL and have good piano , sax , strings in it and some nice basses. And you will use it allot in your tracks. And it replaces that vst. Posted by: StrictProduction  on 2011-01-14 22:18:53
